Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL

Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL black with cream leather interior

The Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL sat at the top of the W126 saloon range from 1985 to 1991. It combined the long wheelbase SEL body with Mercedes-Benz’s 5.6 litre eight-cylinder engine and a high level of equipment. Mercedes-Benz describes the 560 SEL as its most powerful production passenger car at the time of introduction. Mercedes-Benz – offizieller Online Shop

We are particularly interested in well specified 560 SELs, with a preference for black or blue-black exterior colours paired with cream or light leather interiors. The 1990 Trade Classics example you sent is Blue-Black Metallic and is a useful reference for the sort of specification and condition we are looking for.

That does not mean the car needs to be perfect. We will consider high mileage cars, stored examples, cars needing recommissioning and restoration projects. Worn leather, cosmetic deterioration or mechanical work required will not automatically rule a car out.

When assessing a Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL, we look closely at body condition, interior completeness, suspension, electrical equipment and evidence of regular servicing. Original wood trim, leather, wheels and factory equipment are useful, but incomplete or tired cars can still be of interest.

If you are thinking about selling your Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL, send us clear photographs of the exterior, interior, engine bay and any history you have. We reply personally and give you a straightforward answer, with no obligation either way.
